The unstoppable S&P overcame a dip this morning, I guess on news from Japan, to make new highs for the week and the month. If I’m not mistaken, the S&P had a high today just above 1170.
I made another purchase today looking to chase the hot sectors. I’m doing all my research right now in Basic Materials and the stock I purchase came from that sector under the industrials group Metal Mining. The stock I purchased today was SCCO. I purchased this stock based on Sector, Industrial group, and the fact that it was breaking out above it’s current weekly high. I consider this stock to have no overhead that is close enough to matter. Any overhead more than a 1.5 to 2 years away, most people would have already gotten out of.
No positions where stopped out today, so no realized gains to report. I will sell 20 shares of UPRO @ $166 a share for a quick profit and free up capitol. I have to much money invested in this position based on the size of my entire portfolio. If that sale goes through, it will still leave me 20 shares to ride and a quick $52 profit.
($0) realized profit today. October realized gain = ($309.12) AVG = ($38.64) a day. Personal goal = $50 a day. 8 of 21 trading days for October complete.
Unrealized and still holding: $379.00
PRX - $154
LVS - $112
JASO - ($32)
NG - ($2)
SVM - $18
UPRO – $97
SCCO - 31
