Ok things to note here. Don’t let this video scare you if your in the TSP, it should make you feel relief. With that said, not babysitting your money or not saving as much as possible is going to put your retirement in jeopardy and it’s dumb. Want proof, talk to me, I lived through 2000 and 2008 that was mentioned in this video and it is why I started this blog.
Next, listen to what they say about Index funds and or ETF’s, then go look up these indexes funds and tell me you can’t do this, (IVV, VB, VEU). If you have a TD Ameritrade account, you could trade those ETF’s now without commission if you held them for 30 days. If you didn’t hold them for 30 days, then you would have to pay the normal stock commission rates or $9.99 to buy and $9.99 to sell, no matter how many shares or dollar amount is involved. Look them up and you will find they track the C, S, and I funds perfectly and you could practice today what you will need to know down the road.
