What a wild ride the S&P 500 gave us in October. Total price movement from top to bottom was $197.53 points. At one point the S&P was down 7.67% for the month. It was difficult hanging in and not bailing into the G when you listened to all the news, but once again the monthly charts held you in and you ended up with a 2.45% gain for the month.

Price is well above the 10 period moving average as you can see in the chart above, so the C-fund is a buy.

$dwcpfMonthly  The Small Cap also went for a wild ride in October dipping 7.2% but is also ended up with 4.11% gain. So if you hung in there, well done. The closing price for October was above the 10 period moving average, so the S-fund is a buy.

Bonds just keep churning along. Closing price was above the 10 period moving average, so the F-fund is a buy.

The International is still in trouble and still in a monthly decline. Price closed below the 10 period moving average so the I-fund is a sell.

I will be going back to my aggressive posture Monday by selling out of the G and F and buying into the S-fund. After the close Monday, I will be sitting 50-50 C an S.

Monday moves must be executed in your TSP account no later than 11:59am in order to get them into effect by Tuesday mornings open. Have a great weekend.
