Ok, that is not how the movie title goes, but that is the way it went for me today. MISP, the stock I really wanted to hold got bounced out this morning with an early surge down to $15.52. My stop stop loss order was $15.72, so it was closed or sold. That was the bad. Then by 10:05 the march back up began and this was the ugly because it was pouring salt in my wound. I was pretty po’d most of the day and pretty much ignored the market until around 3pm. By 3pm MISP was back up to $16.65, and then marched higher into the close to finish at a high of $17.71. So that was the ugly, because it was in my face!!! Should have ended the day with a $150 gain here, but instead a $176 loss. Errr!
So here is the GOOD, ARMH was up 13%, CY was up 4.38%, and FNSR was up 3.27%, so this all made me feel better. I locked in a 10% gain in both ARMH and CY, so if those stop orders are fired, that is the smallest gain I will receive. My portfolio was up almost $300 even as the S&P, Small Cap, Nasdaq, and Dow 30 all closed lower, so I have that to be thankful for. MISP, just pissed me off, because I didn’t want to sell it. That my friends is trading, so I will get over it.
$176.02 realized profit today. AVG = $35.46 a day. Personal goal = $50 a day. 9 of 20 trading days for January complete.
