NO move made today.

I made no move today in the markets and will wait for more movement in price before I decide to bail.

Something I want to clarify long term investor and a short term.

Long Term, if you have no stomach for the news and hate watching the markets on a day ro day bases and want to make as few of moves as possible. You also want to make sure you avoid mjor losses but you understand that you will never, ever get out near the top or get at the bottoms, you are a WEEKLY Chart watcher.

Short term traders like to watch day to day movements and want to make sure that do not take minor losses and have the time and want to babysit their money. They will be willing to make multiple moves throughout the year and normally have $100,000 or more invested and do want to take minor losses. Sometimes because of this and the restritions of the TSP, you will use up your allotment of moves and sometimes will miss moves because of that restriction. This type of watching can sometimes be mind numbing.

Anyone that has 10 years of less in the TSP should by default learn the long tem investment technics and then grow into the Short term trading. Remember, your retirement account should never ever be thought of or used as a day trading platform. You must though avoid major losses like 2008. In the very near future will post another education post on all my moves the last two years and compare the difference between the long term and short term moves and which worked out better.

Tonight I will post 2012 year end numbers as soon as TSP releases them. Happy New Year to all.
