Firstly, if you’re a long term watcher and you look at Weekly charts, your still safe. Charts still have barely flinched. In case you are curious, my TSP account has taken a 1.54% beat down since last last Friday. That hurts, but still sitting at 5.5% YTD.
There is a really high chance tomorrow I will be making my first move of 2013 and that will be bailing out of the International Index and into the G. I ‘ve got 20% of my monies invested there and 2 out of 3 warnings have officially fired. Today we closed just 10 cents above the 50 day moving average and that is so close, it’s not worth talking about. So tomorrow, if we are trading below the 50 day by 11:30am, I will make the move.
The S&P and Small Cap look very depressing at the moment but there is a small chance that things can be saved here. Only 1 warning has fired on either chart but the 2nd warnings are approaching quickly. Believe me this is painful to watch, but it is my system and it is suppose to keep me in as long as possible and not make any knee jerk moves. I have said it once and I will likely say it a couple million more times, I will never get in at the bottom and I will never get out at the top. Double digit losses are unacceptable and that is my major goal. No double digit losses and 7% a year gain every year as an average.
Bonds are starting to reverse but it is still to soon to call. Price has peeked though the CBl and downtrend line the same day, but closed below them. Price is still a ways below the 50 day ma, so I will patiently wait for a signal to enter.
My Stock Portfolio has started selling out. I closed 2 positions for a profit today and that leaves me with 5 stocks. Of those 5 stocks, I have 3 that fired a sell signal today but one is KORS and I have more room in that position to let it run and I do not want to sell. This is my favorite stock. I think it will be at or above $100 by years end. I have 2 I want to hold until earnings are reported so I going to attempt to hold, but if it begins to be painful, I will bail. 2 days ago I was sitting on $1100 unrealized profit and now, $5. Ouch!!!!!! That does not count the 2 stocks I sold for a profit today.
Below in order from left to right is International, S&P, Small Cap, and then Bonds.
There are not favorite Stocks, only ones that make you money and ones that lose you money.
ReplyDeleteNever fall in love with a stock, I know, I know. But Kors is my favorite and I'm still in the money hoping for a quick pivot low to add to the position.
