TSP Distribution: S-fund 40%, C-fund 40%, I-fund 20%
First up is the very easy read of the weekly charts of all 4 indexes individually, which also makeup the L-funds. In order from left to right, S&P500, Small Cap, International, and Bonds. Remember if you’re a long term investor and you really have no interest in following the markets and all the drama that goes on, the weekly charts are for you. You will likely only make moves once or twice a year. Sometimes like last year, you beat the guys that move their money sometimes twice a month.
So here is the easy read. S&P500, Small Cap, and International are a go and should be invested. The Bonds fired the most recent signal which was an exit signal, 12.31.12. If your in Bonds then it must be painful to watch. That's it, no moves Monday morning for these investors, so have a good weekend. This also means all L-funds are a go.
See! How hard is that? So yes, all those that have no time and have no desire can do this every Friday at the close of markets, 4pm EST. One more little note. For those that are reading Charles Schapp’s book and wondering why I use 10 & 30 period ma’s on a weekly chart, just remember that 10 periods on a weekly chart equal 50 periods on a daily chart. They are the same.
I will do another post sometime tonight or Saturday for the folks like me that watch the markets daily and like to stay on top of every tick.
